20 years ago, MEND held its first back-to-school program recognizing that kids in under-resourced communities were at a disadvantage when it came to having the supplies needed for school success. The program has changed over the years, but the purpose remains the same.
Usually taking place before the start of a school year, MEND hosts an event in response to the urgent need for school supplies. K-6 Children receive backpacks filled with pens, pencils, pads, markers, dry erase boards, and other school supplies along with new books, lots of healthy snacks, and other goodies.
