Description of Duties: Assist MEND Gala event staff at the 2024 MEND Dignity Awards Gala. Provide support in event setup, guest registration, raffle/auction facilitation, event breakdown, and other related support, as determined by onsite need.
Volunteer Impact: Support the success of MEND’s largest annual fundraising event, the Dignity Awards Gala, which raises mission funds for services to the most vulnerable people in our community.
Duties Include: Before the event starts, volunteers will help unload event supplies, set out tribute journals, pledge cards, pens, flowers, and other items. Volunteers will greet and welcome guests as they arrive, check them in, encourage them to purchase raffle tickets, and direct them to the reception. When the ballroom opens, volunteers will assist guests with finding their tables. During the live appeal and live auction, volunteers will serve as spotters to ensure the auctioneer sees when guests are bidding, and to collect bid pledge cards. At the end of the event, volunteers will assist with collecting and packing event supplies (programs, bid cards, decorations, signage, etc.).
Required Qualifications: • Must be age 21+ • Outgoing, engaging, friendly and polite demeanor • Detail oriented • High energy and proactive • Able to commit to volunteer from 3:00pm-9:00pm on Thursday, October 17, 2024.
Dress Code: Event-appropriate black pants or skirt, white shirt, and comfortable shoes. Covid-19 Vaccination and Masking: MEND follows the LA Public Health Guidelines for COVID-19 cases isolation and close contact. Masks are optional.
