Description Duties: Volunteers will play a key part in creating a welcoming and organized experience for all job seekers attending the Job Fair. You will help guide participants through the event, assist with check-in, and support communication needs.
Impact: Your support will ensure that participants feel welcomed, informed, and ready to connect with employers — helping the Job Fair run smoothly and making a positive first impression for our community.
Specific Responsibilities:
Line Navigation / Traffic Flow: Direct participants to the correct line, answer basic questions, and ensure smooth movement through the registration area.
Registration Support: Assist staff with check-in, helping participants complete forms, and confirming participant details.
Translation Assistance: Provide language support for participants who may need help understanding instructions or communicating with staff (Spanish and other languages welcome).
General Event Support: Help participants find resources, direct them to employer booths, or support staff as needed.
Dress Code: Dress in business casual attire to maintain a professional environment.
Be approachable, courteous, and flexible in assisting where needed.
Time Commitment:
Shift Time: 8:45 AM – 12:45 PM
Skills/Experience/Resources/ Certifications Needed:
Friendly, organized, and comfortable engaging with the public.
Able to stay calm in busy, high-traffic settings.
Bilingual (English/Spanish or other languages) is a plus, but not required.
Covid-19 Vaccination and Masking: Regardless of vaccination status, masking is optional MEND will continue to provide masks for volunteers.
